LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.–Beetle Bolden came off the bench and scored 17 points as No. 23 West Virginia pounded the University of Central Florida 83-45 in the semifinal of the Advocare Invitational on Friday.
The Mountaineers (5-1) will face Missouri in Sunday’s championship game. The Tigers defeated St. John’s 90-82.
WVU’s defense smothered the Knights in the first half, allowing the Mountaineers to take a 43-20 lead at the half.
WVU forced 27 turnovers and had 14 steals.
Jevon Carter had 16 points, five assists and five steals. Daxter Miles Jr. and Sagaba Konate each add 14.
Konate had six of the Mountaineers 10 blocks.
Tacko Fall was the only UCF player in double figures with 11 points.
Fouls were once again a problem for WVU. On Thursday, the Mountaineers committed 25. They had 27 on Friday.
WVU shot 45.7 percent from the floor and made 9-of-25 from beyond the arc.
The Knights made 12-of-49 from the field and just 1-of-12 from 3-point range.
Tipoff for Sunday’s game is slated for 9:30 p.m.
