The Tennessee coaching search has been one of the most scrutinized in the history of college athletics after the Greg Schiano hiring and subsequent firing all within a 3 hour span. The list of coaches who have allegedly turned down the Volunteers is actually staggering. Especially with Tennessee being an SEC program.
As of Thursday evening Tennessee had turned their attention to WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen’s protege Mike Leach. Leach is currently the head coach at Washington State.
As of Friday morning there was no deal reached between Leach and Tennessee and it looks as though the search may continue.
Ralph Russo, a prominent college football writer for the associated press finally made the statement all WVU fans wait for, whether they want to see it or they are scared to see it.
It should be noted that there has been no indication that Tennessee has even considered Holgorsen. But if Tennessee has resorted to interviewing coaches who are known for the air raid offense it may make some Mountaineer fans a little uneasy, especially if Leach does not take the job.
