Wide Receiver/Tight End Dillon Spalding will be making his first official visit to Morgantown as a WVU commit, this weekend. On November 27th, Spalding decided to come to WVU over Michigan. Spalding is rated as a 3-star prospect.
Spalding attends South County High School in Lorton,Virginia. Spalding comes in at 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 210 pounds. This season he caught 43 passes for 916 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also ran for 9 touchdowns this season, as South County Coach Gerry Pannoni used Spalding every way he could. Stats like that made Spalding an obvious choice for first team All-Met this season. He was dominant on the field for his whole career at South County with career totals of 182 receptions for 3,217 yards and 50 total touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see how WVU Coach Dana Holgorsen uses Spalding as he could be used as a tight end or a wide receiver. WVU will have to replace at least one receiver next season (Ka’raun White) and if David Sills decides to declare for this years NFL Draft, WVU might need Spalding and to contribute on offense right away.
