The Mountaineers sent out a load of offers yesterday, including one to 2019 quarterback Connor Bazelak of Dayton, Ohio. West Virginia now joins an offer list that consists of Pitt, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Toldeo, Ohio, Western Michigan and Central Michigan
“I was excited because I know Coach Spavital has coached a lot of great quarterbacks in the past and it would be great to work with him,” Bazelak said on learning of his West Virginia offer. “I will definitely make a visit once basketball ends and then even maybe an official in the spring. If I can make an official visit to West Virginia, then they will be a school that I am heavily interested in.”
Bazelak also seems confident that he would be a great fit in Morgantown adding, “I think I can fit into their offense well because of my ability to throw and make reads and also run a little when I need to.”
Bazelak has tremendous presence in the pocket and has great touch on the ball. He is very lethal in the run game as well and runs really smooth for a 6’4″ 210 quarterback. He has all the tools necessary to succeed and could turn out to be a hidden gem for whoever lands him. For comparison, he reminds me of a Jacoby Brissett or A.J. McCarron except Bazelak is much more mobile.
Bazelak also informed me that West Virginia, Pitt, Vanderbilt and Kentucky are the current front runners and hopes to make a decision sometime before the start of this upcoming season.
