Why West Virginia Will Win
The Mountaineers have lost five of their last six games and now the basketball team has to face the flu bug on top of Kansas State. Several WVU players have been dealing with flu-like symptoms this week. Some of them have been in and out of the hospital. The Mountaineers 93-77 loss in Ames on Wednesday was the team’s worst loss since the season opener. WVU’s defense was non-existent and the Mountaineers struggled to make shots. Senior Daxter Miles Jr. missed the game and seems to be affected the worst by the flu. Earlier this week the Wildcats had a four-game winning streak snapped with a 70-56 loss to Kansas. Kansas State is led by guard Barry Brown (17 points) and forward Dean Wade (16.4 points, 6.5 rebounds). Wade shoots 56 percent from the floor and has produced four consecutive 20-point performance.
