What to Watch for: Three Mountaineers head to Indy for NFL Combine

The NFL season is now officially over, which puts football lovers looking toward their next fix. That next opportunity for pigskins? The NFL Combine starts on Thursday, March 1 in Indianapolis. The Combine is essentially the first peak at player performance for NFL owners and coaches in preparation for the NFL Draft this spring.

This year’s NFL Combine will have several familiar faces to Mountaineer fans as three West Virginia players have been invited to the Combine. Justin Crawford, Ka’Raun White and his brother Kyzir White have all been formally invited to show off their skills in Indy in a few weeks.

Crawford had a record-setting time at West Virginia, becoming the second running back since Noel Devine, 2008-2009, to have back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons. Crawford ended last season with 1,061 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Ka’Raun White was not too far behind Crawford last season with 1,004 yards and 12 touchdowns. His brother, Kyzir, accounted for 146 tackles total over the course of starting two seasons in Morgantown. The White brothers are following in the footsteps of big brother, beloved Mountaineer Kevin in record-setting in Old Gold and Blue before setting off for the NFL.

There will likely be more Mountaineers preparing for the NFL Draft in the coming weeks and months, but it is certain this trio will be on your TVs for the Combine, giving fans a little preview of what Sundays next fall could be like.
