Carter and Konate Receive Big 12 Honors

WVU point guard Jevon Carter has won The Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.  Carter also made the All-Big 12 First Team and the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.  Carter becomes the first Big 12 player and the third player from a major conference to be on the All-Defensive Team all four seasons.

Sophomore Sagaba Konate was also honored as he made the All-Big 12 Third Team and joined Carter on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.

Awards like these should give the Mountaineers some of their confidence back, as they will look to bounce back after losing to Texas last Saturday.  They will play Baylor in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday.
