West Virginia, Kansas Tournament Championship Predictions

The Mountaineers take on the Kansas Jayhawks at 6:00 EST Saturday to compete for the conference tournament championship. Here at Blue Gold Sports. we have compiled a set of predictions from our staff on the outcome of the game. Check out what we really think and let us know how you feel the Mountaineers will fare versus the Jayhawks.

Shanna Rose: It’s hard to beat a team three times right? I think WVU is due for some good fortune. Plus Dax and JC have hearts of lions, and are on a mission.

Brandon Baker: Third time should be the charm for WVU, but if the officiating crew I think is calling the game definitely is, they won’t let WVU beat their beloved Midwest darling Jayhawks.

Layne Sheppard: Carter and Press Virginia are able to disrupt the flow of Kansas. Without their star, Udoka Azubuike, WVU is able to dominate the paint. The white hot 3 point shooting of Daxter Miles continues and West Virginia pulls out a tight win 82-79 over the Jayhawks.

WVU 89, Kansas 72

Ashley O’Brien: This is a team that simply wants to hang a banner in Morgantown, and that’s evidenced from their play this week. Playing three games in three days is a difficult feat, but the desire to win helps West Virginia. Tonight’s game will be exceptionally tough, and close at times but in the end, the Mountaineers get what they’er looking for.

WVU 73, Kansas 70

Kelsie LeRose: They say, the third time is the charm— tonight it will be for the Mountaineers! This is their third trip to the championship and third game against Kansas.

Protect the ball and play “our” game will be some of the keys to a victory.

With a limited rotation, the Jayhawks will once again face the Mountaineers with a pressure style and deep bench.

As Jevon Carter said Friday night after defeating Texas Tech, “One more.”
