MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–West Virginia will face Murray State in San Diego on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
“We played in San Diego in 2001 or something and I thought it was a great place to play,” head coach Bob Huggins said. “It’s a great venue.”
The Mountaineers (24-10) are a five-seed while the Racers (26-5) are a 12-seed.
Murray State earned the automatic bid out of the Ohio Valley Conference after defeating Belmont for the conference title.
The Racers are riding a 13-game winning steak.
Tipoff has not been announced.
The winner will advance to face the winner of the other first-round game between fourth-seeded Wichita State and 13th-seeded Marshall.
