SAN DIEGO-Beetle Bolden will meet his former friend and teammate on Friday when West Virginia squares off against Murray State.
Over the summer, Bolden and Racers’ senior guard Jonathan Stark were teammates on a select team in Spain. A select team is a travel of different college athletes from different teams that play against international teams.
While Bolden and Starks didn’t spend much time playing against one another, they did some big things on the court.
“Me and him together, we was really killing it over there, “Bolden said. “It was pretty fun. He’s a pretty good player from what I’ve seen.”
And the Mountaineers sophomore enjoyed the time the two spent together.
“He’s a good dude,” Bolden said. “We got kind of close. We played together on the same team and it was a lot of fun.”
Just from the short time of being teammates, it was apparent that Stark was a true talent.
“He’s a crafty player,” Bolden said. “He’s obviously the MVP of his conference, the OVC. So he’s a really good player.”
And Stark has a mutual respect for his former roommate.
“He’s a funny guy,” Stark said. ” He’s a good player, a great shooter. He’s kind of quiet though. But he’s cool.”
WVU and Murray State play at 4 p.m. (ET) on Friday.
