Marciej Bender Asks for Release from WVU

Sophomore Forward Marciej (Magic) Bender has asked WVU coach Bob Huggins for his release so he can transfer from the Mountaineers.  Bender averaged 1 point and 2 rebounds in the 35 games he appeared in this season.

Huggins said in a statement: “We have enjoyed Magic and his contributions to Mountaineer basketball, “we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Bender came to WVU as a 4-star recruit and was suppose to be an impact player for the Mountaineers.  That soon changed with the emergence of Sagaba Konate & Logan Routt and not quite fitting in WVU’s fast past style.
