MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–According to reports, West Virginia center Sagaba Konate has been invited to the NBA draft combine.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound sophomore entered his name in the NBA Draft last month but has not hired an agent. The NBA’s deadline to withdrawal from the draft is June 11 but the NCAA requires athletes to submit a written statement announcing their decision to remove their name from the draft by 11:59 p.m. on May 30 in order to maintain their collegiate eligibility. That is 10 days after the combine takes place.
Konate averaged 10.8 points and 7.6 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game. He ranked third nationally in blocks per game and second in block percentage.
The Bamako, Mali native started in 36 games this season.
