Now that we have informed you of our class A players to watch, it is time to dive right into class AA. There is so much talent from the top to the bottom of this class it was extremely hard to select just three players, but we are going to give it a shot.
Coming in at number three is a kid we have watched and his play speaks for itself. He recently made the move from Brooke high school to Weir high school. This will be a house hold name by the end of the season.. Starting at number three is..
3. Christopher Helms (Weir High School C/O 2019)
Chris who is better known as CJ is a great new addition to Weir, Helms transferred in from Brooke high school. Adding a talent like Helms to the already great defense is only adding strength and depth on the defensive side of the ball. Helms played linebacker and also free safety last season at Brooke, and is being transitioned into a full time safety. If CJ does play at the next level it will more than likely be at the safety position due to size.
Now this next player we will talk about just finished up his freshmen year, yes you heard me right just finished his freshmen year. Not many people have probably heard the name of this young man due to only being a freshmen, but I promise this will be one kid you want to go and watch. Coming in at number two is…
2. Ethan Payne ( Poca High School C/O 2021)
6’0″ 190 Lbs
Ethan came on the scene pretty quick last season as a freshmen. One of the toughest running backs in the area. While he is only getting better and bigger that should be scary for the opponents he will face this season. Look for a big year from the Dots sophomore running back. Ethan very well could lead the state in yards this season, and I can say it would not be surprising to see that. When he gets rolling I wouldn’t wanna be the one trying to bring him down.
Now the moment you all have been waiting for rounding out our class AA list is one of the top quarterbacks in all of West Virginia. West Virginia has a great class of quarterbacks this season, and this player is right at the top. Coming in at number one is….
1. Cason Payne ( Point Pleasant High School C/O 2019)
When you mention Cason you have to mention how special this season could be for Point Pleasant. Coming off a great junior year he looks to improve from the numbers he put up last year and not only be the best quarterback in class AA but in the entire state. Cason could make this year very special for the people in Point by bringing home the class AA championship, but when you talk quarterbacks in the state of WV you can not forget this kid.
