Jevon Carter signs multi-year deal with Memphis

Former West Virginia standout Jevon Carter inked a multi-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Memphis drafted the 6-foot-2, 205-pound guard with the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

During his tenure with the Mountaineers, Carter became the school’s all-time steals leader (330) and set single-season school records last year for assists (246) and steals (112). He won numerous accolades while leading WVU to three Sweet 16 appearances in four seasons.

Currently, the Maywood, Ill. native is playing for the Grizzlies in the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. In Saturday’s 92-86 win over Utah, he had 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block.

Through five games this summer, Carter has averaged 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.40 steals in 23.8 minutes.
